PRODUCT DETAILS
The Go Power! SSW-1500-12 is a UL Listed 1500-watt, 12-volt pure sine wave inverter for RVs, vans and boats, with GFCI receptacles for plug-in loads. It converts 12V battery power into clean 120V AC (≤4% THD) to run a coffee maker, blender, TV, laptops, CPAP, a compact microwave or a residential fridge exactly as a household outlet would, with 3000W of surge for motor and compressor start-up. It is PowerTrak™ compatible, so it shares data with Go Power! lithium batteries, solar controllers and displays over the RV-C network, and it is covered by a 2-year warranty and a North American support team.
Built to the standard RV manufacturers install
Go Power! has designed mobile power since 1996 and is the inverter brand fitted at the factory by Jayco, Forest River, Thor and other leading RV builders. The SSW series is the same generation of inverter those plants install today: UL Listed to UL 458, the safety standard written for inverters in vehicles and boats, with full input over/under-voltage, over-temperature and short-circuit protection. Part of Dometic.
Clean power your electronics can't tell from shore power
Pure sine wave output at ≤4% total harmonic distortion means no buzzing in audio gear, no flicker on screens, no overheating in motors or chargers, and safe operation of medical devices. Rated efficiency is over 88%, climbing past 93% at typical part loads, so more of your battery goes to the appliance and less to heat. PowerSave mode drops idle draw below 0.2A, so you can leave it on standby without worrying about the bank.
Part of a system, not a box on the wall
PowerTrak™ compatibility puts the inverter on the same RV-C network as Go Power! Advanced Lithium Batteries, the Battery Manager Kit, Dometic MPPT solar controllers and the PowerTrak™ display. Watch inverter load alongside battery state of charge and solar input from one screen, and let the system coordinate low-voltage protection instead of relying on the inverter's own cut-off alone. Add the SSW-R remote for a simple on/off switch and status at the galley.
Right-sized for vans and small trailers
1500W continuous covers the daily loads in a van or small trailer — coffee, blender, TV, laptops, a CPAP overnight — and handles a compact microwave or residential fridge from a 100–200Ah lithium bank. Need microwave-and-coffee-maker headroom? Step up to the SSW-2000-12.

WHAT IT RUNS
Approximate runtime from a single Go Power! 100Ah Advanced Lithium battery (≈1,280Wh, 90% inverter efficiency). Double it for a 200Ah bank. Add up everything you'll run at the same time and stay under 1500W.
| Appliance | Typical draw | Runtime on 100Ah lithium |
|---|---|---|
| RV microwave (700–1000W) | 1000W | ≈ 1 hr (6–10 meals) |
| Drip coffee maker | 900W | ≈ 1 hr 15 min (≈ 8 pots) |
| 12 cu ft residential fridge | 150W avg (600W start) | ≈ 7–8 hrs |
| CPAP (no humidifier) | 40W | ≈ 28 hrs |
| 32" TV + streaming box | 80W | ≈ 14 hrs |
| Laptop charger | 65W | ≈ 17 hrs |
| Blender | 1200W | ≈ 55 min |
| Hair dryer (low) | 1200W | ≈ 55 min |
Not recommended: rooftop RV air conditioners, 1500W induction cooktops or space heaters at full power, electric water heater elements.

FAQ
What can a 1500-watt inverter run in an RV?
A 1500W pure sine wave inverter runs any single RV appliance up to 1500W — coffee maker, blender, TV, laptops, CPAP, a compact microwave and a residential fridge — one high-draw item at a time. It will not run a rooftop air conditioner without a soft-start. Add up the wattage of everything you'll use simultaneously and stay under 1500W.
What size battery bank do I need for a 1500W inverter?
At full load a 1500W inverter draws about 140A from a 12V bank, so plan on at least 100–200Ah of lithium for sustained use (Go Power! 100Ah or 300Ah Advanced Lithium batteries), or less for short high-draw tasks like a few minutes of microwave. Lead-acid banks should be twice that size because they only deliver about 50% of rated capacity.
What cable and fuse size does the SSW-1500-12 need?
#2 AWG copper cable, a 200A Class T fuse or breaker on the positive lead, and no more than 10 ft (3 m) per DC cable. The Go Power! Inverter Install Kit (1100–1800W) includes correctly sized cables, fuse block and lugs.
Is this inverter compatible with lithium (LiFePO4) batteries?
Yes. The 10.8–16.0V input range covers LiFePO4, AGM and flooded 12V banks. With Go Power! Advanced Lithium Batteries it also shares state of charge and low-voltage protection over the RV-C network through PowerTrak™.
What is the difference between pure sine wave and modified sine wave?
Pure sine wave output is identical to household AC, so sensitive electronics, motors, chargers and medical devices run cool and quiet. Modified sine wave is a stepped approximation that can cause buzzing, overheating and shortened life in anything with a motor, microwave magnetron or switching power supply. For a modern RV, pure sine wave is the safe choice.
Does the SSW-1500-12 include a remote?
The remote is sold separately so you only pay for it if you need it. The SSW-R inverter remote adds an on/off switch and status LEDs at the galley; if you have a PowerTrak™ display, you can monitor and control the inverter from the display instead.
Can I use this inverter in a 24V system?
No. The SSW-1500-12 is a 12V unit. For 24V systems see the Go Power! 24V industrial pure sine wave inverters.
Will it charge my batteries from shore power?
No — it is an inverter only. For battery charging and automatic shore-power transfer in one unit, see the AIC-2000-12-SL Advanced Inverter Charger.
What does UL Listed to UL 458 mean?
UL 458 is the safety standard specifically for power inverters and chargers used in land vehicles and marine craft. A UL Listing means the SSW-1500-12 was tested by UL to that standard, which is what RV manufacturers, marine surveyors and many insurers require.
Is Go Power! the inverter installed in my RV from the factory?
Very likely, if your coach is a Jayco, Forest River, Thor or many other brands. Go Power! has supplied RV manufacturers since 1996, and the SSW series is the current generation of that OEM line, so it's a drop-in upgrade path with matching remotes and PowerTrak™ components.
What's the warranty and who do I call for support?
Two years, backed by Go Power!'s North American support team (part of Dometic). Register your product after purchase; support is available by phone and email, and manuals and quick-start guides are linked above.
